Translated by Gordon M Hay into Doric (North-east Scots).

Doric is the dialect of the Scots language spoken in the North-east corner of Scotland in what were originally the counties of Moray, Banffshire, Aberdeenshire and Kincardineshire, now the administrative areas of Moray, Aberdeenshire and the City of Aberdeen. The area has retained a distinctive language and pronunciation but has many local variants, both in vocabulary and word intonation from its western reaches around Elgin to its southern limits around Laurencekirk.
